Mr. Beast: Survive 100 Days In Prison, Win $500,000

Associate Producer

The production of this video was complex, and my role required diverse skills. I spent 12 hour shifts operating PTZ cameras, recording decks, lav mics and master audio controls both during the day and overnight, as we rolled 24/7. While doing this, I took timecoded notes on the behavior of our contestant to aid post production team in finding viable content. I contributed to creative decision making and narrative development of the video, prompting our two contestants for various types of content and ensuring cohesive story telling throughout.

Project Description

This video took an interesting perspective on the criminal justice system and its consequences. A former NYPD police officer of several decades, alongside a convicted criminal who served time in prison, spent 100 days locked in a prison cell together. This was a shock to the former officer, who had to face the reality of the conditions he sent several convicts to throughout his career. The former convict had to relive some of his days spent locked up in real prison, while teaching his new cop cellmate to navigate the lifestyle. This led to the development of a fascinating friendship and simultaneous rivalry as circumstances began to pit the two against each other.
